A Series of Unfortunate Events:

I nearly had my medications in balance when I tripped in the dark and fell into the wall - unknowingly fracturing my spine.

I had X-rays of my hip and shoulder,  but the pain in my spine was being masked by... TO LEARN MORE SUBSCRIBE

Now, as I prepare for another round of surgeries, I find myself with a restless mind and limitations on my abled time.

As I reflect on life, I take inventory of the works and creations I have digitally generated.

A Brief Technical History (Part of Dr. Wooten's Teaching Portfolio)

The first computer I ever used was the IBM 5100, which my father brought home for my siblings and me in the 1980s (IBM 5100, 1975). I started taking computer courses in 6th grade, and by high school, I was taking an Excel course using a TRS-80 (which we lovingly referred to as a Trash 80).

After graduating in 1990, I studied mathematics and computer programming at the University of South Florida. I was introduced to the SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) Pico and Pine here. Over time, these protocols went from commands entered at the prompt to the modern-day window’s environment. I am familiar with Windows Outlook, GMAIL, and Canvas Messenger, among others.

I have been typesetting since then, creating certificates for non-profit organizations, and writing several texts independently and with my mentor, Dr. Chris P. Tsokos. Developing course material for STA 2023, Introduction to Statistics, a course I developed for the university between 2007 and 2015, taking the course from a single class of 50 students to coordinating TAs and managing help session assistance, increasing the enrollment of this course up to five mass lectures with approximately 1000 students and developing the online version of this course which included creating a video library of the course content presented in apps I created using the software R and application Shiny. I designed the course layout and created the templates required in Canvas.

I am well-versed in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Paint3D and 3D Builder. I am also proficient in Photoshop, the statistical platform R, and Unity (a physics generator designed for gaming that uses the coding language C#).

I am fully versed in downloading files and file conversions from document or image form into a PDF, taking this PDF and adding the file information using Photoshop.

I am knowledgeable in computer peripherals: the monitor, the keyboard, the mouse, printers, webcam, and pen tablet. I am proficient in using keystrokes to execute commands: Ctrl-A (select all), Ctrl-B (make bold), Ctrl-C (copy), Ctrl-E (center), Ctrl-I (make italic), Ctrl-J (justify), Ctrl-L (align left), Ctrl-N (new document or file), Ctrl-P (print), Ctrl-S (save), Ctrl-V (paste), Ctrl-Y (redo) and Ctrl-Z (undo); in addition to Ctrl-Enter-C (copy format) and Ctrl-Enter-V (paste format); Alt-Plus Sign to insert an Equation.
